United for Medical Research (UMR), a coalition of leading scientific research institutions and industries, and patient and health advocates, has recently reported on the impact of research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on the U.S. economy and individual states.
In Nebraska, the report finds that NIH awarded $133.6 million in grants and contracts during the 2020 fiscal year that directly supported 2,388 jobs and $339 million of economic activity.
