The Lincoln Journal Star’s Chris Dunker reported that the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is set to begin construction on a $160 million USDA laboratory, the National Center for Resilient and Regenerative Precision Agriculture, in mid-2024 at Nebraska Innovation Campus.
This facility will focus on precision crop production, livestock management, water and climate resiliency, and digital agriculture, aiming to double the Agriculture Research Service’s presence in Lincoln. The project, which evolved from initial plans focused on renewable fuels and water conservation, will include a new research complex and collaborations with various UNL departments and the Nebraska Ag-Tech Innovation Accelerator, enhancing agricultural innovation and national security.
