We are excited to welcome new Bio Nebraska member, Dryland Genetics.
Dryland Genetics was founded in 2014 and develops and markets new higher yielding varieties of proso millet, a crop that produces twice as much grain from the same water as corn, while having only 75% the carbon footprint. Our new, propriety, proso millet varieties, developed using a combination of conventional breeding, genomic selection, and high throughput crop imaging are producing 10-40% more grain for Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas farmers. Faculty experts in crop genomics and breeding from the University of Nebraska and Iowa State University serve on our board of directors and our efforts are supported by investors including Next Level Ventures and Stine Seed Farm.
